One Stupid Trick For Video SEO
uStudio | Industry Trends

Science and technology never cease to amaze me.
Usually that’s because of things like proving the existence of the Higgs Boson, finding cute new mammal species for YouTube videos or flexible phone screens. (That last one is something I need now as I’ve broken four phones in two years by absolutely shattering the screens!)
However, every once in a while science and technology is flat out dumb. I’m not talking about useless gadgets, like laser-guided scissors or electric spoons. This time, I’m talking video SEO.
It seems silly, even downright stupid, but one of the most important keywords every video should have is… video.
I know, I know… you’re thinking, “but it’s a video, why would you waste a keyword on it?”
Well, you’re thinking like someone who is posting a video, not someone looking for one on YouTube.
Let’s say you want to see some funny videos of cats. You go to YouTube and in the search bar you type: “cat”?
Nope, you (or at least a lot of people!) type “cat video” or “spain travel videos” or “baby car seat installation video.”
While keywords don’t generally affect video rank, making your video’s metadata closer to what is being searched for can’t hurt.
