Every day a new story drops about the growth and popularity of video. Yet the ease of producing videos is not matched by the ease of distributing and publishing them.

Recognizing this, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) has created the WAVE Project. The WAVE Project (which stands for Web Application Video Ecosystem) is made up of global video technology leaders with the goal of  “improving the handling of Internet-delivered commercial video on consumer electronics devices and reduce the difficulty faced by content creators in distributing video to CE devices.”

Today we are proud to announce that Josh Marshall, uStudio’s co-founder and vice president of  products and engineering is one of a select group of industry leaders who has been asked to join the project. He will participate as a member of the Technical Working Group. Josh was selected for his deep understanding and experience in engineering uStudio’s video platform on HTML5, one of the accepted industry standards.

“We embraced HTML5 video early-on and it has already proven to have an enormous impact in how we consume and share content, and yet to reach its full potential it will require groups like WAVE to help focus and refine standards to ease adoption, integration and cross-vender compatibility, especially as a new generation of devices and delivery technologies threaten further fragmentation,” said Marshall.
