Advance Auto talks about using podcasts for sales training success

We’ve initiated a new format for our webinars to be more of a conversation than a presentation. We are eager to invite you into these candid conversations between our CEO Jen Grogono and corporate leaders who are finding success in their streaming programs. So far, we’ve heard that this is a much more engaging and authentic way for you to learn about how enterprises are using content like audio and video podcasts to engage their workforce and partners with stories that stick.

In our inaugural episode, Jen sat down with Advance Auto’s engagement leader Brent Snowden to talk about how he got started and where the program has led his team. They’ve done an impressive job. We’ve shared several of the highlights from the recorded episode, but don’t miss a chance to watch the whole thing. You won’t be disappointed!

7:45 - Program Strategy. From content planning, to host selection, production, and executive sponsorship… Advance Auto followed a framework we call the 6 P’s of Podcasting to ensure a successful launch of their program.

18:20 - Content Strategy. Inviting their audience to be involved in the podcast has proved successful for Advance Auto. They started by interviewing each of their vice presidents of professional sales, then encouraged sales team managers to share the podcast with their sales teams. This helped increase listenership and create interest in the content.

28:30 - Promotion Strategy. Advance Auto’s promotion strategy includes integrating with their Salesforce CRM with QR codes and a weekly promotional email with highlights. This strategy offers the most efficient access point for sales to discover new content.
