We recently sat down with force.com developer, Joseph Dindinger of To a Finish, to hear his experience publishing video directly inside of Salesforce Sales Cloud using uStudio's video APIs. Read on below to hear Joseph's insights on video training and collaboration solutions.

What is your background with the force.com platform?
I've been a web developer for a long time, since the mid '90s, maybe. The last ten years, I've been involved in the Salesforce world, and we've been developing for the Salesforce platform.

How would you describe working in the force.com ecosystem?
It's exciting to work on the salesforce.com platform because there's cutting edge functionality and it's very solid.

What about working with video inside of Salesforce? Is there demand for that?
People want to use video inside of Salesforce. They want to share video with their colleagues. They want to be able to send videos to people that are their prospects or even clients via email. They also want to just have some type of learning application inside of Salesforce.

How would you describe the main challenges (if any)?
One of the frustrations of working with force.com is that they make it really simple, but because of that it's a little bit restrictive. If an executive comes in and says, "I want my logo right there," or "I want a video to pop up right here," you just can't do it by itself.

How does uStudio help you solve for that where video is concerned?
With uStudio, you're able to do almost anything with video inside of Salesforce. The first thing that I think we pushed into was training, bringing video into a training environment. When we brought the capabilities of the platform in there and added some other interesting java script and technology, we're able to do almost anything on the screen inside of Salesforce.

What, specifically, about working with uStudio has helped you build powerful applications inside of Salesforce?
Working with uStudio has been really, really cool because of the ability to go fast, to be able to use the solid tools, restful APIs all across the board, and implement all kinds of things, basically whatever you want. We're able to just build without really thinking about the platform, without thinking about the limitations that we might experience or things of that nature. We just build what we want and use the different APIs to do so. It's been a really great way to build technology on the web.

How does uStudio compare to other video offerings you’ve evaluated?
We did a lot of research into various different video offerings in Salesforce on the app exchange. What we quickly realized is that uStudio is, by far, the most complete video offering, as far as the video platform and the app that goes with it, in the Salesforce environment.

I think for somebody who wants to get involved in video, somebody who has struggled with video, knows the capabilities of video, and wants to be on the cutting edge of where a lot of the web is right now and where the Internet in general is, getting to know uStudio, getting to know their tools, is something that's absolutely essential, I think.

In my experience in all the areas that we've been pushing into with video, I have not run into any limitations of the uStudio platform, as of yet, but I'm trying. I've put the uStudio platform through its paces, and it's held its own every single time.
