Release Notes: Enterprise Podcasting 1.12
uStudio Engineering | Product News
As part of our commitment to review continuously security standards in our products, our latest enterprise podcast application release (v1.12) will introduce configurable user session lengths.
uStudio podcast sessions will be set by default to check every 10 hours to ensure a user is authenticated. With configurable session lengths, SSO administrators can now set this to whatever they would like.
Note that if you are using SSO, your IT team may want to review session lengths and consider whether changes would impact the user application experience. Here’s how a typical SSO configuration works:
When a podcast user’s session expires, the podcast application automatically attempts to re-authenticate the individual with the identity provider (IdP). During this process, the user may notice an authentication page on the device that will disappear almost immediately if the user’s session is extended. In other words, a momentary "flash" will appear on the screen. If the user does not authenticate for any reason, s/he will be asked to sign in again to the application.
When using uStudio as your identity provider, users will be asked to log in again after (a) three days of not using the application; (b) 30 days since the last log-in; or (c) credentials have changed. SSO customers control their own log-in policies.
As always, we’re here if you have any questions.
Happy podcasting!
