Release Notes: Enterprise Podcasting 1.14
uStudio Engineering | Product News
Live Audio Streaming and Enterprise Podcasting Desktop App are here! Our 1.14 release represents a significant product milestone with the beta release of our new desktop application, as well as the release of our live audio podcast product for the mobile and desktop applications. Now, joining a live event is only a tap away.
Read on below for the full list of new features in the 1.14 release.
Live Audio Streams
The podcast application (both mobile and web-based) now has the ability to receive and play a live audio stream. When a live audio stream begins, the audience will be informed via push notification if they are not already in the application. If the user is in the application, a persistent banner will appear to announce a live audio stream is in progress. Clicking on either the push notification or the banner will launch a player to listen to the live audio stream. Contact sales@ustudiostage.wpengine.com if you wish to live stream your audio podcasts.
Podcast Web Application (Beta Version)
A web version of the podcast application now lets you consume secure podcasts on your laptop or desktop. Contact sales@ustudiostage.wpengine.com if you wish to enable the Podcast Web Application.
Group Statistics
Group data is now sent in the analytics stream from the podcast mobile and Web apps. This will allow for Group-specific information to be displayed in the Analytics Dashboards in coming releases of the Podcast Management Console (PMC).
Group Deletion
Groups may now be deleted in the PMC. When a Group is deleted, any users in that Group will no longer be in that Group. Any Shows restricted to the deleted Group will have the deleted Group removed from the restrictions.
View Invited Users
The Podcast Management Console (PMC) now gives a dropdown with choices of “Active” listeners or “Invited” listeners. Selecting “Invited” will only show listeners that have been invited but have not accepted the invitation.
PMC won’t allow SSO Group Editing
The Podcast Management Console will no longer allow Group membership to be edited if the Group was defined by an SSO connection to an Identity Provider (IdP). The PMC now relies completely on the SSO connection to manage SSO Groups.
Episode Description Links Helper Text
In the PMC, clarified description and hints on Episode descriptions to let administrators know that any URL in the description would be converted to a clickable link for listeners.
PMC Now Allows Creating Private Shows with No Groups
A Show may now be marked as “Private” with no Groups assigned. This is a good way for administrators to keep a Show invisible until it is ready to publish.
Episode Edit / Confirm Screen When Publishing Removed
The edit and confirm screens have been removed when publishing an Episode in PMC.
Configurable Name Fields
SSO connections that send back user name data in non-standard ways can now be manually mapped to the correct values.
User List Now Shows User’s Status
In the PMC, the User List has a new “Status” column to show whether a user is “Active” or “Deactivated”.
As always, we’re here if you have any questions.
Happy podcasting!
