AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--uStudio, Inc. today announced the University of Arkansas Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is now using the company’s interactive video platform to bring students, alumni and Razorback fans around the world closer to the action, both on and off the field. uStudio is used across all 19 Arkansas sports programs to stream live audio, share interviews, highlights, previews, recaps and more on the Razorback Sports Network.

According to Nielsen’s State of the Media: Year in Sports Media Report, consumption of sports content online is surging. Among intercollegiate athletics programs, the University of Arkansas is leading the way in offering higher impact interactive video experiences that engage fans across the web and mobile devices.

“At the University of Arkansas, we are deeply invested in delivering the best fan experience possible and finding new ways to share compelling, original content with Razorback followers,” said Chris Freet, Senior Associate AD - External Operations/Strategic Communications for the University of Arkansas Athletic Department. “Interactive online video gives you a front row seat to the action and provides exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the stories behind scores. uStudio gives us a powerful platform and set of video player options to manage and syndicate thousands of sports videos across our online channels, and share that passionate Hog spirit with fans around the world.”

uStudio’s video players are configured to stream the University’s advertising and display social feeds right inside the player, empowering fans to engage socially with teams, without ever having to leave the University’s site. uStudio’s video platform also streamlines video workflows by integrating with the Athletics Department’s online web platform, providing for easy video upload, organization, tagging, publishing and measuring.

Fan feedback to the new video network has been strong. Since the Athletic Department launched its new website with uStudio and website provider WMT, visits have increased 46 percent, video plays have increased more than 30 percent and overall time spent on the online home of the Razorback Sports Network has increased 33 percent.

“The appetite for online sports video content has spread to every screen and social channel, driving hundreds of millions of dollars in e-commerce and advertising revenue. Innovative athletic departments like the University of Arkansas are taking advantage of this opportunity to strengthen relationships with students, fans and donors through interactive video content,” said Jen Grogono, CEO of uStudio. “We’re excited to partner with this great team to reinvent the way they create and deliver sports content.”
